African Summer Stage - Cape Town, South Africa

Table Mountain will provide the spectacular backdrop to this two-day music Festival, which is taking place on March 21st (Human Rights Day) and March 22nd .The festival is headlined, on both nights, by Burundi’s Khadja Nin who is currently touring her widely acclaimed 4th album “YA”. With a music career now spanning 10 years, Khadja Nin is an undisputed queen on African music. Notable for her exceptional empathy and humanity (she is an ambassador for UNICEF), she has consistently delighted the world music with music that transposes language.

It’s a bill perfectly complemented by South African great, Busi Mhlongo, who’s performing in Cape Town after a long absence, as well as Bongo Maffin, Jive Connection with Vusi Mahlasela, Loading Zone featuring Jaco Maria, Brasse Vannie Kaap, and Moodphase 5ive.

On presenting the music component of the Festival for the first time, says Ashiek Manie, Provincial Director: Western Cape, Standard Bank: “We are delighted to be able to support this event which will showcase the talents of so many of South Africa’s musicians. Tickets are R30 per day or R50 for the festival, and are available from Computicket from Monday, 25 February.
