Jazz trumpet star Roy Hargrove had his custom Swiss-made Interbinen trumpet stolen around midnight on Friday outside Scullers Jazz Club, as he played his encore on his flugelhorn.

Media coverage has been heavy and so various calls have been coming in to the club and the hotel.

A woman leaving the club during the Friday night late show encore called again today and said that she saw the trumpet on the hall table and wondered aloud, “Oh look at that, I wonder why anyone would leave that trumpet there." After saying that, she saw a young Caucasian male with fairly short, dark hair and quite clean cut, pick up the horn and exclaim, “Oh man, Look at this!" She described the young man as possibly in his late '20s or early '30s, medium build, maybe 5'7" or 5'8" and wearing a dark sweater. She further elaborated that the man was with a couple of friends, one was a woman.

No one knows if this is the person who took the trumpet. There were a number of patrons leaving the club during the encore.

Anyone with any information is urged to call either Scullers Jazz Club at 617-562-4111 or the DoubleTree Guest Suites Hotel at 617-783-0090. The $500.00 reward still stands, and no questions will be asked, if the trumpet is returned. If the person who took the trumpet wishes to remain anonymous, then Scullers requests that the trumpet be mailed or delivered in an unmarked package to the hotel.
