The Semifinalists

The Semifinalists formed in early 2006 as a result of guitarist and composer Dan Venne's final project for his master's degree at NYU. The Semifinalists' music is mostly originals composed by Venne, and are rich in complex meters, harmony, and counterpoint. The group's tight excecution of the material combined with expressive and communicative improvisation result in a truly enjoyable listening and viewing experience.
