The Country

The Country has only been around as a group since 2008, but the members have been seen for quite some time on the Swedish jazz and music scene. The members have had collaborations with musicians as Bobo Stenson, Palle Danielsson, Tim Hagans, Björn Yttling, Jeanette Lindström, Adam Tensta and many in between. As a group they have existed for about three years and, along with E.S.T, they represent new great Swedish jazz. Standing with one foot in jazz and the other stepping between the genres, The Country presents fresh, melodic and swinging music.

Released in 2015, Past Present came on the heels of tough times for Sco—the 2013 passing of his son, Evan, to sarcoma at age 26. Sco's music on the album was haunting and pained, the ache of a father and a family that endured the worst possible loss. His new album, Country for Old Men (Impulse!), released today, is on the same trail bound for similar ...
