Tanyaradzwa Mazarura

My name is Tanyaradzwa Mazarura. Born in 1970 in Murehwa Zimbabwe. My father is the uncle to the late legend and Afro jazz musician; Oliver Mtukudzi.. I literally lived with Oliver Mtukudzi during his very early days when he would have to live with his uncle; my father in Murehwa. I was therefore privileged to be influenced by the jazz music of the 1970s together with him. I was always much younger than him though;ie about fifteen years younger. He then went on to influence me into his kind of jazz but my jazz is not exactly similar to his.

I happen to be the first one to introduce his daughter; Selmor to music well before her father had any music related contact with her; to an extent that she recorded the song "iwewe neni (|which I composed) on her initial musical album.

I have written Oliver Bookie "Roots of the legend" which is a narrative of my experiences with the legend and the latest one,"Legends never Die" which is about his late days of life, passing on, the funeral and the events that ensued. These are awaiting publication. I have more than a hundred jazz music sounds to date available to me and on Sound Cloud. .
