Sara Landry
Falling somewhere between tech house and techno, Sara's enigmatic sound is derived from a broad swath of musical genres that together comprise the soundtrack of her formative years. These genres—ranging from 90’s hip-hop to uplifting trance to classical and back again—have together shaped Sara as a producer and helped to define her sound by inspiring her to always creatively push the envelope and challenge the norm (rules be damned). Aided by her diverse influences and commanded by her ever-particular ear, Sara has quickly become known for her signature dubby-yet-bouncy sound that prominently features clean, minimal tracks and always delivers a meaty low-end brimming with bass.
After many years of dabbling with production and passionately sharing music with others, Sara began deejaying and started pursuing her musical career while living in New York City. After a few years spent honing her craft in New York’s notoriously dog-eat-dog scene, Sara relocated to Austin, Texas and quickly made a name for herself as Austin’s newest tech house heavyweight. In less than a year, Sara’s become a prominent fixture within Austin’s ever-growing underground house and techno scene, landing regular gigs at some of the city's most revered venues and snagging vivid support from more than a few scene veterans.
Sara attributes this relatively-quick success to both her desire to connect with the crowd and the infectious enthusiasm she can’t help but display every time she plays. “There’s no better feeling than hearing the music you love on a proper sound system, so I’m always just as excited to hear what comes next as the crowd is.” To Sara, “It's all about the music. If you can't feel me in your chest, I'm not doing my job.”
