Nick Costa

Born and raised in Plymouth Meeting, a suburb of Philadelphia, Nick began playing drums at the age of nine through his schools music program. With a sincere passion for playing music, his parents decided to sign him up for private lessons at the age of eleven with local musician Patrick O’Shea.

As Nick’s musical experience progressed, he performed in all the ensembles in school ranging from concert band to jazz band. Finally at the age of fifteen, Nick began studying with his future mentor, clinician/educator Marc Dicciani. From there, Nick attended the University of the Arts where he studied with Jimmy Paxson SR, Marc Dicciani and Erik Johnson.

Nick has been actively performing around the Philadelphia region at venues including: The Trocadero, The TLA, North Star Bar, Crocodile Rock Café (Allentown, PA), The Note in West Chester PA, the Kimmel Center’s 1,800 seat Merriam Theater, and more.

Currently Nick is performing with Philadelphia’s Indie Rock group Modern Suits and The George Weldon Jazz Trio. Before joining Modern Suits, Nick was in Practically Single, a pop/punk quintet based out of Philadelphia. While in Practically Single, Nick had the opportunity to share the stage with such pop/punk greats like All Time Low, Quietdrive, I Am The Avalanche, Rookie of the Year, Saosin, Innerpartysystem, Eye Alaska, Disco Curtis, and more.
