Godfrey Lubuulwa

Godfrey was born in Masaka, Uganda,East Africa. His music involves fusion of sounds form Ugandan traditional music instruments with the western featuring cultural dialogue between styles of Uganda with the diverse styles spanning the globe. He use such instruments as the Ugandan Lyre, xylophone, thumb piano, percussions the accordion and guitars. The music is characteristically Ugandan at its roots, but its leaves and branches constantly grow and expand into new territories featuring a cultural dialogue between styles of Uganda with the diverse styles spanning the globe. He is a co-founder and pioneer of the first Jazz bands in Uganda (1997-2004) He is the music director of St. Francis Xaverian choir Bweyogerere Catholic Parish, and Bandleader of Baxmba Waves. He has worked and shared stage with great artists like Mathias Loibner,Cecile Verny,Pagani trio,viviane Arnoux
