Stefan Glass
Stefan Glass was born in 1966 in Kaiserslautern, Germany. He was raised in an environment where music was all around. His father played violin, and his mother and brother played piano. “I still recall the times when the family came together at my uncles place and my mother took the accordion and my uncle grabbed the guitar and everybody was singing”. At the age of 9 Stefan got his first guitar. Aside from some lessons from well known Kaiserslautern based Jazz-Rock guitarist Tommy Westrich and miscellaneous workshops e.g. with Leon Kappa a.o. Stefan Glass educated himself as an autodidact. Later, for a short period of time, he studied classical guitar with Roland Hoebel, Pirmasens/Germany. He worked on music/jazz theory with Ede Janson, Worms/Germany. As an autodidact he worked on drums, bass, piano and synthesizer. For a period of time his love for symphonic music was shown in orchestral rock songs. After years of playing the electric guitar Stefan discovered the acoustic guitar again in 1994. With his acoustic guitar duo he played more than 1500 gigs of all sizes, e.g. the amphitheater Carros Village (Nice/France), the FIFA Mainstage in Kaiserslautern (Soccer World-Championship) and countless clubs in and outside of Germany. 2006 “Abydos” entered the stage of the Pfalztheater in Kaiserslautern. A musical based on compositions by Stefan Glass. After a couple of journeys in the world of rock and pop Stefan recalls his big love for Latin- American music. He starts writing “LA PRIMERA”. 2012 recording of “La Primera” with Gonzalo Rubalcaba, Horacio “El Negro” Hernandez, Giovanni Hidalgo, Jose Armando Gola und Roland Peil. 2014 release of “LA PRIMERA” through the label HGBS.
