Perfect Day Music

Welcome to Perfect Day Music. Here we showcase five fantastic bands that play across a range of styles, so you don't need to trawl the web hunting for great live music.

Kimba and Ryan fell in love over music 14 years ago and have honed their jazzy sounds playing everywhere from the most intimate clubs to some of the world's biggest festival stages. Swingin' Both Ways play it from the heart and their consummate professionalism stems from a very simple mandate: communicate with the host, read the crowd, and focus on the music. This formula ensures the success of every event Kimba and Ryan attend.

Swingin' Both Ways From sweet jazz and latin to quality classics and quirky covers, Swingin' Both Ways have the repertoire to cover any occasion. If it's French chanson you require, an Italian fiesta you want to conjure, or a trip-hop extravaganza in the works, speak to Kimba and Ryan about how they can work your vision into the set.

Swingin' Both ways is available as a guitar/vocal duo, piano/vocal duo, piano/guitar duo, a classic trio with double bass. You can even add a horn for a cool jazz sound. Ryan is also classically trained in the Japanese shamisen!

Kimba and the Gin Remedy Meet Miss Kimba and the Gin Remedy. They look as sharp as a tack and their live sounds dazzle. If you're after a group that will leave your guests grinning and talking about your event for weeks afterwards, Miss Kimba and the boys deliver the sounds. Swing out with some gorgeous dinner jazz, steam along with some swing and jump blues, and hear the Gin Remedy drive home those classic pop and rock'n'roll favourites. They've also played funk, soul, and R'N'B music at many of Melbourne's premier live music venues.

Vixen 6 One of Melbourne's best kept secrets is that many of this town's most swingin' players are not men in ill-fitting suits! If you're after a tight, talented and professional jazz-swing and soul act that everyone will remember, then come land on the planet of the Vixen 6.

These women are all masterful players with a sassy kooky look, and each player is unique. No boring, shapeless dresses or clichéd too-tight tops, this stylish crew look cute, quirky, and full of sass, but best of all come equipped with a killer sound.

Lead by speakeasy songstress Miss Kimba, with her vampish look and a velvet voice that sends sailors onto the rocks, the Vixen 6 features Shannon Barnett, Tamara Murphy, Frann Swinn, Sarah Galdes and Audrey Boyle.
