For more than 20 years, Jacob Kaye musician, drummer, educator has been a leader in the music industry. Whether backing headliners, leading his band or as a music educator. Jacob's international performances on stage, screen and television in 3 continents, 6 countries, and countless cities has made him one of the world's top performers.

Listen, I understand you're serious.....but, let me ask you something.... Are you prepared? ...I mean REALLY prepared?!

An distinctly individualized approach is adopted for each students' strengths and weaknesses. Yet, the lesson-formats and concepts remain the same for ALL students. If they remain in my care long enough, they will:

Learn and master all drum rudiments (master is significantly different than “know”)
Read Music
Learn correct hand and foot techniques (preventing injury to yourself) Gladstone Technique, Constant- Release
Develop a solid musical-foundation that becomes seamlessly "authentic"in ALL music and drumming styles: Rock, Funk, R&B, Hip-Hop, Jazz, Latin, and Ethnic and World grooves, etc
Interpret Drum Charts
Stylistic groove development
Soloing
Preparation for CEGEP and University music auditions and much more...

I teach the Moeller Method, Pull-Outs, a time-tested method I learned directly from Jim Chapin. Every student, young or old, beginner, pro, male and female, will learn this same technique at the "advanced studies level". Go to website for info!

Jacob and the band are schooled musicians and their music is inherently educational. Schools and universities may request Jacob for clinics, master classes, and combination classes and concert packages.

Jacob’s percussion/ drum set clinics and workshops are designed to benefit students/ teachers at all levels of experience. They strive to address technical needs without neglecting musicality. A student drum clinic may focus on technical concerns or questions on performance. Often teachers opt for a combination of the two, with a preliminary session on percussion techniques. A thorough explanation of the fine points of teaching flams.The different interpretations between Orchestral/ Concert and Rudimental/ Marching Ruffs and Rolls.
