Eskil Roos
Eskil Roos (2001) is a Swedish pianist and composer based in Malmö. He has distinguished himself through his lyrical and dreamlike musical expression, which conveys both stillness and drive. In September 2026, he released his debut album, Mystery of the Mind on record label Prophone (Naxos Sweden).
Eskil attained a bachelors degree in jazz and improvisation at Malmö Academy of Music under the mentorship of Jan Lundgren, Maggi Olin, Inga-Britt Niemand and Loïc Dequidt. In his third year he went to study with the renowned pianist and composer Kristjan Randalu in Tallinn at the Estonian Academy of Music and Arts
Growing up singing in choirs and playing the violin, the piano came into his life relatively late at the age of 16. His father finding the music of E.S.T. (Esbjörn Svensson Trio) along with Swedish pianist Lars Jansson were the first steps into the world of jazz. Starting out by figuring out the music of Lars Jansson and the music of Studio Ghibli film composer Joe Hisaishi by ear, the spark for a lifelong passion for music was lit.
