Neil Sadler - English-born composer, percussionist/keyboardist's album titled "THEORY OF FORMS" on the BleedingARTs label. Sadler's dark percussion and edgy, jazz/rock compositions create agressive soundscapes featuring guitarist Mike Keneally (Vai, Zappa) and Bryan Beller (Z, Vai), his bassist and partner, at their raging best, and a slew of Frank Zappa horn alumni - Walt Fowler, Albert Wing, Bruce Fowler, Kurt McGettrick & Steve Fowler (known for their work on major movie soundtracks, a who's-who of recording/touring and currently together in 'Banned From Utopia') & LA bassist Joel Woods.

This is my kind of delightfully frenetic, jazzish and fusiony art. Tis quirky, energetic, odd-metered, free-blowin' yet structured abandon. Sadler's seven compositions are whirlpools of beat, whole tonal scales, staccato attacks and explosions — all geared for great improvs and dynamics. Ah, there is room for Keneally fusion riffs and Torn-like howling sustain. Walt, Steve, and Bruce Fowler bring in a definite Miles Davis / Mark Isham aura along with that Steve Coleman, David Binney, and Brecker feel in many ...

A great 9-piece jazz/rock/improv line-up in a fantastic concerthall, playing new pieces, works-in-progress, wild improv and arrangements from “THEORY" and the first time Mike, Bruce & Kurt have played together onstage since the '88 Zappa tour.
