Minjung Lee Quartet
Minjung Lee Jazz vocalist South Korean jazz vocalist, Minjung Lee searches for composing her own songs and for adapt different styles of music in jazz. She has a bright color of voice and owns good classical techniques, which make her sing from low notes to high notes without difficulties, and perform different kinds of music : french chansons, gospels, and other well-known standards including the traditionnal music of her origin. She sings this repertoire in jazz style with her own interpretation, in different languages such as English, French, Korean, Spanish, Italian or Brazilian. After her studies at I.A.C.P., CIM, Conservatoire de Bourg La Reine, Conservatoire de Cachan, and Conservatoire de Villepinte, Minjung Lee has been singing in Paris in quartet since 2006 with Andrea CAMPAGNOLO (guitar), Kentaro SUZUKI (doublebass), and Wesley BARBE (drums). This group has already performed at many Parisian jazz places like Café Universel or OPA. In June 2006, Minjung Lee Quartet also participated in a special concert which took place at Jardin des Tuileries intitled « Corée au Coeur(Korea in Heart) », celebration of 120th anniversary of diplomatic relations between France and Korea. This quartet was invited to have a concert at Entrepont in Issy-les-Moulineaux and at Korean Cultural Center in Paris for the Fête de la Musique 2007. In 2014, the first album of the group has been released with a special concert at Sunside, Paris in May. Recently, this group was invited to play at Jardin d'acclimatation to celebrate the 130th anniversary of diplomatic relations between France and Korea. Actually, they are working on the second album which will be released in 2016. Andrea Campagnolo, guitar Andrea Campagnolo has started his studies in guitar in Italy. He came to Paris to deal with his technique in jazz deeper at CIM. In 2010, he obtained the diplôma EMMEN with remark « great distinction ». In Paris, he plays with different musical groups to enhance his talents. Kentaro Suzuki, doublebass Born in Tokyo, Japan, Kentaro started to learn electric bass guitar at the age of 12. He pursued his studies of jazz, classical music, ancient music with doublebass in Paris. Thanks to his excellent performance and his perfect technique, he became one of most in demand doublebassists in Paris. Wesley Barbé, drums Wesley Barbé is a drummer from New Caledonia. He discovered jazz music in New Zealand in 2001 studying at Polytechnique Jazz School in Christchurch. In 2004, he came to Paris where he frequented jam sessions and meetings at jazz clubs of the capital.
