Maureen Mullaney

Originally from Saratoga Springs, New York, Maureen started studying the voice at 14. She earned a degree in Music: Vocal performance from SUNY College at Geneseo and went on to win a "Best Actress" New York State Theater Award for her role as Erzulie in Once On This Island in 2002. After moving to Washington DC, she made a transition to Jazz performance and has never looked back. Maureen can be seen at many of the East Coast's top jazz and blues venues. As an active performer and educator Maureen Mullaney has had a diverse and rewarding career. Maureen has performed a wide range of repertoire including Opera, Musical Theater, Irish Folk, and Jazz. Maureen’s noted roles include “The First Fairy” in Henry Purcell’s The Fairy Queen, Erzulie in Once On This Island for which she was awarded a Theater Association of New York award for best actress. She also appeared as a dancer in a production of A Midsummer Night’s Dream with the New York City Ballet
