Lolivone de la Rosa

Lolivone de la Rosa (July 7, 1993) is a guitarist, composer, producer and educator from Puerto Rico based in New York City since 2021.

Although new to the New York City scene, she has already headlined and performed some of the city's leading venues, such as The Jazz Gallery, Birdland, Smalls Jazz Club and Ornithology Jazz Club. Upon her arrival to the city, de la Rosa held a 2-year residency at Casa Mezcal NYC, where she featured a stellar lineup including Akiko Tsuruga, Pat Bianchi, John Benítez, Pablo Menares, Dan Martínez, Alvaro Benavides, Marvin Diz, Edsel Gómez and many more. She has also performed alongside NEA Jazz Master and mentor Terri Lyne Carrington, Paquito D’ Rivera, Frank Vignola, Steve Cardenas and Pedrito Martínez. De la Rosa is now focused on writing new music for her working organ quartet, featuring organist Brian Charette, tenor saxophonist Ned Goold, and drummers Juan Chiavassa & Sam Bolduc, with whom she performed her original works at the Berklee Performance Center, in Boston, and The Jazz Gallery, in New York City.

De la Rosa currently occupies the guitar chair in the Jazz at Lincoln Center (JALC) blues workshop band, led by Seton Hawkins, and collaborates with a number of artists including Willerm Delisfort, Roxy Coss and Goussy Celestine. She has traveled to Chicago, Connecticut and Washington, DC to represent the JALC on the road educational program.

De la Rosa attended Berklee College of Music (‘21) on a full-tuition scholarship. She pursued a double major degree in Guitar Performance and Contemporary Writing & Production. Shortly after graduating, she joined the Guitar Sessions faculty at Berklee, where she taught fretboard harmony. In the Fall of 2022, de la Rosa was invited to join the New York University (NYU) Tisch School of Arts faculty, where she taught music theory. De la Rosa has also given several masterclasses in jazz guitar, improvisation and rhythm section at higher education institutions such as, Binghamton University (New York), JAZZUV (Mexico) and the Conservatorio de Música in Puerto Rico.

In the midst of the pandemic, de la Rosa founded the Global Arts & Music Venue - a virtual platform that builds bridges between artists and their audience through the technology available to us today.  She produced the 1st edition of the Global Arts & Music Venue Jazz Fest. The 3-day virtual event showcased the talents of renowned global artists while offering accessible educational opportunities for young musicians. Its impressive lineup of performing artists and clinicians included Terri Lyne Carrington, John Patitucci, Kenny Werner, Larry Goldings, Melissa Aldana, Peter Bernstein, Sullivan Fortner, Lage Lund, Alexa Tarantino, Gilad Hekselman, and Tom Oren.  She has also produced a series of masterclasses through GAMV featuring George Coleman, Larry Goldings and Joe Farnsworth.
