Kevin Reed

Kevin studied at San Francisco’s American Conservatory Theatre and worked for many years as a professional actor. As a singer, his major influences were Mark Murphy, Johnny Hartman, and Mel Torme. From 2008 to 2012 he studied privately with Hans Halt. In 2009 he was accepted to the Stanford Jazz Workshop and received an emerging artist grant from the Nevada Arts Council. Kevin has performed or recorded with Randy Porter, Dena DeRose, Steve Christofferson, Andrew Speight, Grant Levin, Ed Corey, Andy Heglund and Hans Halt. In 2012 Kevin collaborated with members of the group The Collective, performing the works of Charles Mingus, Miles Davis, Thelonious Monk, and Duke Ellington. In 2015 Kevin began working with pianist Aaron Garner on the arrangements for his first EP When the Shadows Fall. It will be released in November of 2017.
