Kelly Bryan

Kelly is from Berkeley/San Francisco, California. He later resided 19 years in Munich, Germany, before relocating to Naples, Florida. He is a graduate of the University of California – Berkeley, where he earned his BA in Music and studied/performed classical music and jazz on acoustic bass. Kelly transitioned to electric bass at the request of jazz pianist Vince Guaraldi (“Cast Your Fate to the Wind” and “Peanuts” music.) He eventually gravitated towards rock music and session work. Kelly has toured all over the world performing in 49 US states and 29 countries on 5 continents. Major venues include: Carnegie Hall, Jazz Workshop (Boston & SF), El Matador (SF) Trident (SF) various US universities, San Quentin Prison, stadiums in Vancouver, Oakland, Tampa, Seattle, Cleveland, Boston, Chicago, Toronto, London (Wembley Stadium with the Jesse Colin Young Band, opening for Crosby, Stills, Nash and Young.)

• Toured and recorded with: Vince Guaraldi Trio/Quartet, Jesse Colin Young Band, Grootna, Dieter Reith, Roberta Kelly, Katja Ebstein.

• Recorded with: Janis Ian, The Brothers Four, Oasis California, Randy Crawford, Hermann Prey, Pupo, Caterina Valente, Gene Wilder, Tom Scott, Lalo Schifrin, Marvin Hamlisch and many others.

• Film Soundtracks: “Stir Crazy”, “9 to 5”, “The Competition” “Seems Like Old Times”.

• Television: Many live and pre-recorded shows and soundtracks. Largest live TV audience: Eurovision International Song Contest, approximately 500 million viewers.

• Performed live with: Marty Balin, Dave Grusin, The Friends of Distinction, Maynard Ferguson, The Platters, Four Tops, Ellie Stone, Red Norvo/Mavis Rivers.

From April, 2006 - March, 2020, played 3-4 nights/week at the Naples, FL, Ritz-Carlton Hotels with the Jerry Stawski Trio and the Bill Davis Duo/Trio.

Kelly is a voting member of NARAS - National Association of Recording Arts and Sciences - presenters of the yearly GRAMMY Awards.
