Lively Times wrote, “Koelzer already conjures the low-light ambience of hip uptown nightclubs and large downtown ballrooms, exuding confidence from flawless technique and spot-on intonation.” Jake studied voice and piano with Jeni Fleming, Daniela Schachter, and Gwendolyn Leathers. He has been featured with numerous Trios, Combos, and Big Bands, as well as opening for the legendary Nancy King. Koelzer is currently performing with his 5-piece ensemble, and working on his follow-up record.
