Gonçalo Francisco Ribeiro
He was born in the city of Guarda (1998) and currently resides in Porto. He began his musical studies at the Guarda Cultural Center and later entered the Jobra Professional School of Performing Arts. He entered the Higher School of Music and Performing Arts (Esmae) and has Michael Lauren as his instrument teacher.
He has shared the stage with various nationally and internationally renowned musicians, such as Billy Martin, Iago Fernandez, Francesco Bigoni, Abe Rabade, Demian Cabaud, André Fernandes, Carlos Azevedo, Nuno Ferreira, Mané Fernandes, Miguel Moreira, Gileno Santana and Thomas Gansch. He attended several masterclasses and workshops with Marc Miralta, Bob Moses, Danna Hall, Aaron Goldberg, Ohad Talmor, Eliot Zigmund, Geof Bradfield, Chris Cheek, Gerald Clayton, Jeff Williams, and Kiko Freitas.
In recent years he has recorded with AP Quartet - “nú” (2022), Gianni Narduzzi Quintet – “Dharma Bums” (2022), Pedro Molina Quartet - “À Procura” (2024), PAIRA (2024), João Próspero Quartet - “Sopros” (2024), André Júlio Turquesa - “Disco de Reclamações” (2024), AP Quintet - “Lado úmbilical” (2025), Kandace Springs “Lady in Satin” (2025) Summer School (2025), Eixo do Jazz Ensemble (Iago Fernandez, Abe Rabade and Zé Pedro Coelho) and occasionally collaborates with the Matosinhos Jazz Orchestra (OJM) and the Espinho Jazz Orchestra (OJE) where he has had the opportunity to work with Joshua Redman, Seamus Blake, Hermon Mehari, Omar Sousa, Michael Formanek, João Paulo Esteves da Silva, João Barradas, Katherine Windfield, Kandace Springs, Miguel Seone, Camil Arcarazo, Irene Reig, JP Simões, Marta Ren and Ricardo Ribeiro.
