Esther James

Esther James graduated in April, 2004 from Wesley Institute with a Bachelor of Creative Arts, majoring in Music Performance. She specialised in Jazz piano with her second instrument being Voice.

Since then, Esther has gone on to pursue a music career that has progressed in leaps and bounds. Before she had graduated, she was head-hunted by the Mosman Baptist Church and invited to come on board as pastoral staff to be their Worship Pastor in December 2003, where she worked until 2005. After that, she went on to work at St John's Anglican church in Willoughby in 2006.

Esther has a passion for training musicians and vocalists to produce excellent music, and helps them to develop and hone their skills in music and creative arts. In addition, she teaches biblical studies and preaches when given the opportunity to do so.

She is also acquainted with the CCLI copyright licensing board in Australia.

Esther also works as a freelance musician both individually and as a part of various bands playing in cafés, weddings, functions and events. In Sydney, her work has included working with the Canada Bay Council, the Australian Home Mission as well as various charity and fund-raising organisations throughout Sydney. She also went into Nursing Homes and Aged Care Centres regularly to play music and provide entertainment for the residents there.

Esther has been on staff at the Young Performer's Academy in Drummoyne, teaching jazz and contemporary piano. Where she trained young children between the ages of 5 to 18 in music, piano playing, performance skills and music appreciation programs. She was also involved in performing at Staff Recitals and Open Day events within Wesley Mission.

She recently completed both her Masters Degree in Music Education at the University of New South Wales, Sydney, Australia in 2006, as well as a Master of Arts Degree in Theological Studies at Wesley Institute, Sydney in 2005.

Esther now lives in Singapore and continues to perform both jazz and contemporary piano as well as being a teacher and mentor.
