Eric Chacon

Eric Chacón is a Venezuelan flutist, composer, and educator, holding a Bachelor’s degree in Academic Flute from UNEARTE. He began his musical training at age eight within Venezuela’s renowned El Sistema, later joining the Venezuelan National Children’s Orchestra and the Simón Bolívar Youth Orchestra, touring extensively across Latin America, Europe, and the United States.

Chacón has studied with leading flute masters in Venezuela and internationally, and has performed as a soloist with major orchestras including the Simón Bolívar Symphony Orchestra and other prominent ensembles throughout the country.

A versatile artist bridging classical and jazz worlds, he trained in modern harmony and jazz improvisation at IUDEM under mentor Pablo Gil. He has appeared at prestigious venues and festivals such as Jazz at Lincoln Center (New York), Jordan Hall (Boston), Garonne Jazz Festival (France), and Jazz al Parque (Bogotá).

As a solo artist, he has released multiple albums including Choroni (2008), Mestizo (2020), Cosmic 305 (2021), Classical Collection (2022), and recent works Black Room Session Live, Exodus, and Chillin Flute (2024).

Chacón has contributed to over 100 recordings, including Latin Grammy and Grammy-winning productions with artists such as Ilan Chester, Tony Succar, Marc Anthony, Rawayana, and others. He is also an active pedagogue, having given more than 100 masterclasses internationally.

Since 2023, he has been an official Miyazawa Flutes artist, performing on the Miyazawa 602 model.
