Daring Greatly

Since emerging on the scene in 2014, Daring Greatly has made a name for themselves as one of the most accomplished and dynamic bands to come out of Calgary, AB. Over the course of eight years, they have released a plethora of albums and singles—their unique fusion of classic rock, modern alternative, folk, country, and pop continues to captivate audiences at renowned venues across the Western United States and Canada. They have garnered a devoted fanbase, which was reflected in the band's 3 nominations in the 2023 San Diego Music Awards for "Best Rock Artist" “Best Rock Album - Gird Valley” & “Song of the Year - Never A Goodbye.” Each live performance is a dynamic and energetic experience, with the band's tight harmonies and impressive instrumentals leaving audiences mesmerized. Lead vocalists Patrick and Liam Croome are brothers, bringing a strong familial connection to their on-stage chemistry. Drummer Brayden Tario has been best friends with the Croome brothers since high school, bringing a level of comfort and camaraderie to the group. 2019 saw the addition of Lake Elsinore native David Mills on electric guitar who brings a distinct southern California edge to the band's sound, while also contributing on the pedal steel. 2021 saw the addition of Matt Spatol on bass.

Liam Croome—at 26—boasts a mean B3 Organ sound, and he can skilfully scale the Piano and Wurly, unleashing explosive solos and psychedelic textures while possessing a deep an illustrious voice of his own, calling to mind a young Burton Cummings of Canada’s The Guess Who. Patrick Croome, 28, writes and strums his heart out on the acoustic guitar while providing a smooth and soul-filled vocal tone that resembles the likes of Eddie Vedder or John Mayer. The family blood harmonies; each with their own unique tone and defined vocal qualities, creates a magical vocal tapestry, like no other. Long-time family friend, Brayden Tario or “Terr"—also 28 is the drummer and backing vocalist for the band. Brayden is a left-handed player that wisely feels the dynamic structure within a song and enhances the music with a tight, rhythmic pocket with precisely timed drum fills and swells. Brayden’s style and approach for his drums parts give subtle nods to the attributes of Dave Grohl or Taylor Hawkins of the Foo Fighters.

The band has recently welcomed Lake Elsinore native, David Mills, 32, on electric guitar and pedal steel, replacing former member, Brandon Haddow. David has over 17 years of music experience and is involved in numerous musical projects and jams with various musicians in his area. His expertise in southern-rock and classic country/blues genres, cohered with Daring Greatly’s Canadian Americana influences. He finds the space for tasteful solos, then casually steps back, to provide soulful fills and rhythm. David’s obsession with electronics and guitar tone, characteristics of those similar to Blackberry Smokes’ Charlie Starr, seamlessly blend with the music allowing space for the bands vocal harmonies to shine.
