Claudio Cardito

Claudio Cardito is an Italian jazz saxophonist, composer, arranger, educator and bandleader based in Naples.

He is the founder of Carditology® – Vision · Soul · Spirit, an original artistic and educational framework dedicated to creative improvisation, musical interaction and the development of individual expression.

His work explores the relationships between tonal, modal and chromatic languages, rhythmic independence, ear training and collective improvisation.

Cardito has developed a significant artistic collaboration with renowned American saxophonist George Garzone, including concerts, recordings, tours and masterclasses in Italy.

His discography includes *Vision Soul Spirit* (2023), *Spirit Soul Vision* (2023), and *Claudio Cardito & George Garzone – Live in Napoli* (2025), recorded live in Naples and released on Carditology Records.

He leads the Claudio Cardito Carditology Trio, featuring Mario Mazzaro on double bass and Aldo Fucile on drums, an ensemble dedicated to original compositions and the interaction of three independent yet interconnected musical voices.

Cardito is also the author of *Evoluzione del pensiero libero*, a study exploring John Coltrane's artistic legacy through the teaching approaches of Dave Liebman and George Garzone.

Through Carditology Records & Editions, he develops recording, publishing and educational projects focused on contemporary jazz, creative freedom and musical research.
