Célia Kameni

Celia Kameni is a French singer of Cameroonian origin. From childhood she was immersed in an eclectic musical universe mixing classical music and jazz, which she studied at the Lyon Conservatory, but also soul, and African and Caribbean music, which were transmitted by her father, a musician and great music lover, whom she followed everywhere, from concerts to rehearsals, since she was barely walking.

Like a free spirit, guided by her aspirations and inspirations, she now participates in various various musical projects, such as the big band Bigre! which subtly combines French songs and Cuban music; or the Amazing Keystone big band, which in 2018 won the French "group of the year" polls and released We Love Ella, an album in tribute to Ella Fitzgerald, with the voice of Célia. Last but not least, she performs with Alfio Origlio, Zaza Desiderio and Brice Berrerd, a quartet in which everyone gives free rein to their creativity with new renditions of an eclectic repertoire.

During her young career, she was able to cross paths and share the stage with musicians from renowned names such as Deedee Bridgewater, Sandra Nkake, Bireli Lagrène, Liz Mc Comb, Cécile Mc Lorin Salvant or Angèle and Ben l'Oncle Soul. Today she continues to exchange and make evolve his music according to his meetings with the artists who make it vibrate, such as Motel Club, Nu Guinea, Yusan and many more.
