Big Space

Big Space is an instrumental jazz-rock trio from Newfoundland & Labrador. Formed in 2013, the band features guitarist Grant King, bassist Ian Murphy, and drummer Ashley Chalmers. Big Space plays an original mix of modern jazz and elements of post-rock, math rock, and progressive rock, with a focus on improvisation. The trio is all about taking chances and catching moments of inspiration, both in the studio and in their exciting live performances. Praised as a “brilliantly original album” by Jazz Journal UK, their 2021 album "In Relation To" ranges from contemporary jazz fusion to instrumental rock and atmospheric soundscapes.
