My Jazz Story

I love jazz because of the combination of musicianship, improvisation, and communication between players. As an audio engineer, I’ve spent years listening closely to how musicians interact, and jazz takes that to another level. Every performance can be different, even when the musicians are playing the same piece. Working with live jazz ensembles and talking with jazz musicians has given me an even greater appreciation for the music. I especially enjoy hearing how each player develops their own voice while still contributing to the sound of the group. For me, jazz is as much about listening and reacting as it is about playing.
