I became exposed to jazz through first listening to Steely Dan albums in high school, then I expanded to listen to a wide variety of jazz albums, with my favorites in the hard bop, blues, soul, and funk traditions. I’m a professor of politics and have long had an interest in how to help artist get more creative independence versus corporations and platform owners.
