Thought I was a rock fan but I had liked jheavily azz influenced rock without knowing it
My friend at work suggested Miles Davis Kind of Blue (of course) and Andy Sheppard Big Band and I was away on a parallel track of Jazz and Rock. Suddenly realised that Joni Mitchell was playing with the biggest jazz names around and Steely Dan were using jazz phrases and influences. Picked up on Courtney Pine and then Jamie Cullum for even more variety. My CD collection is now double the size it should be.
