The man of many voices, Michael Poss has over 40 years of experience in the entertainment/Music Indusry
Michael Poss is the youngest of four brothers whose Father, Louis F. Poss was one of the founding board members of the Chicago division of IBM. His father had been with the company for over 47 years. That work ethic shaped the foundation with Michael Poss who is no stranger to the entertainment industry. He has had vast experience working in front of and behind the camera as an actor, singer-songwriter, music producer, and screenwriter. . A graduate of Liberal Arts from Rainey College in Chicago area with studies in theatre production, music theory, and art history, he also trained at Chicago's renowned Second City Improv workshops and performed in local theatre productions. He has more than 40 years of experience in the music, theatrical, film, and television industry including being a junior theatrical talent agent In 1985, he relocated to Los Angeles to pursue opportunities in film and television, signing with the prominent talent agency Joseph, Helfond & Rix while working at Paramount Pictures, where he gained valuable insight into film and television production. Fascinated in film scoring, Michael would often spend his off-hours hanging out at the studio at the former Glen Glenn Sound recording studio whenever music scores were recorded in their massive orchestral studio on the lot. Michael later entered the music industry as a former Junior Talent Agent at J. Carter Gibson Agency before joining BMI (Broadcast Music, Inc.) as Director of Research. There, he specialized in royalty research, catalog administration, and songwriter advocacy, helping recover millions of dollars in unclaimed royalties for songwriters and publishers. Drawing upon his industry experience, Michael established Twilight Souls Music Publishing (BMI) and launched his recording career as a songwriter and vocalist. His releases include Christmas in Chicago (1992), I Can Feel You in My Heart (1996), and Silver Screen Serenades (2000), the latter receiving pre-nomination consideration for the 44th Annual Grammy Awards in the Best Traditional Pop Vocal Album category. Michael has performed throughout Southern California in cabaret and concert venues, including the historic Rose Tattoo, The Gardenia and The Cinegrill. In 2025, he released official YouTube music videos of Christmas in Chicago and a recent holiday song Christmas Is a Lonely Time of Year. The later included on his new digital album, THE POWER OF OUR MINDS (TSM-2026). Currently residing near Palm Springs, Michael continues to write, record, and produce original music. His latest release, The Power of Our Minds, is a collection of cinematic Pop -Adult Contemporary- Jazz compositions with inspirational and metaphysical themes ALL COMPOSED AND WRITTEN BY Michael Poss. He is also developing several musical film and stage projects while remaining available for select live performances, television and film roles as well as charitable events.
