My Jazz Story

One of the most unforgettable jazz experiences of my life was hearing Charles Lloyd and his Kindred Spirits quintet live during Belgrade Jazz Festival in 2019. Lloyd was already in his eighties, and what struck me was that his power no longer came from virtuoso technique but from the extraordinary depth and intensity of his sound. Against Marvin Sewell’s blues-inflected guitar, Gerald Clayton’s dynamic piano playing, and the exceptional rhythm section, Lloyd created a remarkable contrast through his spirituality and restraint. At certain moments, the entire room seemed to fall completely silent, as if nobody dared to breathe while his saxophone filled the space with an almost otherworldly presence. It was one of those concerts that reminded me why live jazz can be so transformative. You leave the room feeling that something inside you has changed.

KUDO
All About Jazz is one of the few platforms that treats jazz as a living, constantly evolving art form while bringing together musicians, writers, photographers, and listeners from around the world. I particularly value its international perspective, its commitment to both established and emerging artists, and the opportunity to discover different voices and perspectives within contemporary jazz.
SUGGESTION
I am still relatively new to the platform, so I would like to spend more time exploring All About Jazz before offering any meaningful suggestions for improvement.
