About Me
Kim Peralta is a life-long singer-songwriter, multi-instrumentalist and bandleader, now fully devoted to playing jazz drums. She studied drumming in Cuba as a student of Cuban congero/drummer Alejandro Aguiar Rodriguez from 2018 - 2021. In 2021 she joined the SUNY Jazz Ensemble under Music Director Professor Chris Parker, leaving in 2024 to study privately with drummer/composer/arranger/bandleader Art Lillard. Kim is the founder of two groups: Jazzwomen and Blue Hearts Jazz. She appears in various jazz combos in the tri-state region, as a drummer has performed with Jennifer Vincent, Ray Blue, Sarah Cion, Jenny Hill, Lois Hicks-Wozniak and as percussionist with Art Lillard's Heavenly Big Band. She describes herself as “drummer at large!”
