My Jazz Story

I love jazz because...it captures the moods and tonal colors of life. I was first exposed to jazz...in 1980 in college. I saw the great Dizzy Gillespie. I met [musician name]...Ben Sidran, Gregory Porter, Branford Marsalis, Wynton Marsalis, Members of the Yellowjackets including Bob Mintzer. The best show I ever attended was..Gregory Porter here in Madison. His voice filled the venue like a God. The first jazz record I bought was...spirogyra Morning Dance My advice to new listeners...smart with what’s accessible to you from an emotional, mood perspective, then go to see some live jazz then get deeper into more difficult to appreciate or understand forms of jazz. Or whatever else you have in mind.
