I grew up listening to jazz because of my father. He loved all genre's of music, but his favorite was jazz. I grew up listening to Miles Davis, Thelonius Monk, Billie Holliday, Dave Brubeck, and latin jazz, Chucho Valdez, Jimmy Bosch, and a host of others. I really got to appreciate it more as I got older and started to listen to it on my own. Then I started to go to some jazz clubs in Chicago, and I really loved hearing it live.
