About Me
My Jazz Story
I love jazz because jazz gives a performer a lot
of freedom.
I was first exposed to jazz because my parents
liked jazz , they were artists , my family has a
long tradition of writers, painters, actors ...
I met a great polish Hammond player,
saxophonist and pianist Wojciech Karolak
when I was about three years old.
The best shows I ever attended were Miles
Davis at La Vilette in Paris, in 1991, Archie
Shepp Quartet and Benny Golson Quartet at
JVC Festival in
Warsaw in 1991.
The first jazz record that my godfather gave me
on a tape was Keith Jarret , "The Köln Concert",
it`s still one of my favorite records of all times,
along
with John Coltrane`s "Love Supreme", Sonny
Rollins` "Live at the Village Vanguard vol.1&2",
Joe Henderson`s "Page One" and "State of the
Tenor,
vol.1&2", Miles Davis` "Workin' ", "Cookin'",
"Relaxin`", "Kind of Blue"...
My advice to new listeners is : don`t stop
listening to good music!
