About Me
My Jazz Story
I love jazz because it works best when you bring yourself to it. If you're not authentic and imitating someone else, it just doesn't work and it just won't resonate. I met Oscar Brown, Jr. several times in my life, until finally. I handed him a copy of my recording of Hazel's Hips in the green room at the Jazz Bakery in Los Angeles. At that time, filmmaker donnie betts and his crew were filming a documentary about Oscar. As a result of that moment, I was fortunate enough to call Oscar a friend and, to date, he has beeb my most famous houseguest.
