About the Album

Grammy Award winner Ted Nash, along with his trio mates Steve Cardenas and Ben Allison, celebrates the music of Leonard Bernstein's West Side Story in an intimate setting of sax, guitar and bass. This collection of inventive re-imaginations of iconic songs from one of the greatest musicals of all time, got it's start in 2018 during Bernstein's centennial. Nash's trio premiered these fresh arrangements at the Havana Jazz festival (Cuba) in 2018. This release is a follow up to their last trio recording: A Quiet Revolution (Ben Allison). If you like beautiful melodies and creative interactive improvisations, you will not be disappointed by this album.
