About the Album

Curtain of Life is the closest thing to a jazz ballad the band has ever released. The buildup of is just like any track on a classic Blue Note album: a theme, one soloist, another soloist and then a bit of the theme again in the end. Keyboard player Mathias Holm is playing on a grand piano, but his left hand still reaches for a Juno pad here and there. There is no bass in the track, which leaves plenty of space in the sound. The track is named after the classic metaphor for death – the curtain of life falls – which the band had a special connection to.
