About Me

Mandy Lagan has been singing a wide range of material since 1990. Based in Toronto Mandy is one of the finest singers to come out of the Canadian scene, constantly collaborating with some of Canada's finest jazz musicians. In 2007 she released VERSES, which is a magical concept album, setting poetry of Robert Louis Stevenson, (Treasure Island, Kidnapped, Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde) to music in collaboration with David Occhipinti, Andrew Downing, Nancy Walker and Joe Lagan. VERSES is an extraordinary and tasteful collection, an instant classic. THE JONI BOOK was released in 2018. This critically acclaimed collection of Joni Mitchell songs is quickly becoming a favourite with jazz fans and Joni Mitchell fans alike. Ms. Lagan formed an ensemble, ORIGINS, made up of some of Canada's leading Juno award winning jazz musicians. Dave Restivo, Ted Quinlan, Jim Vivian, Andrew Downing, Kevin Turcotte and Blair Mackay offer their creativity, intuition and mastery to this unique and imaginative collection of Joni Mitchell classics. The adventure continues! The newest endeavour for ORIGINS is The Paul Simon Project. Once again Mandy and her band members bring their ingenuity and imaginations to some of their favourite Paul Simon songs.
