My Jazz Story

I was exposed to the Great American Songbook at a young age when I began listening to my parents' records from Frank Sinatra, Harry Belafonte, Johnny Mathis and many more. Then a friend gave me Linda Ronstadt's album, "What's New," with the Nelson Riddle Orchestra. I could sing along easily with her and I was hooked! Later in high school, I had the privilege of working as an usher at the Hollywood Bowl during the summer season. It was the most amazing job and through it I was introduced to all kinds of music, but jazz is what touched me the most. Seeing all of the greats there - Ella Fitzgerald, Sarah Vaughn, Cab Calloway, Sergio Mendes, the Count Basie Orchestra - was simply mind- blowing. So began my incredible musical journey that led me to where I am now, a jazz vocalist specializing in songs from the Great American Songbook, Latin Jazz/Bossa Nova, Blues and World Music.
