About Me

Philippine-born, Washington DC resident for nearly 35 years, Russwin Francisco is an accomplished vocalist and sings with a jazz band at various DC locales. He received formal instruction in piano and classical voice. He performed with professional groups, concert choirs and in community theater. He is often a featured soloist at various churches and special occasions.

Francisco owns and operates Bite the Fruit, a popular retail store in Dupont Circle. He co-owned Black Fox Lounge, a jazz venue which frequently received excellent industry reviews during its five-year run.

Coming soon to DC is Sarap Sarap Bistro Filipino, delicious food in a refined and relaxed setting showcasing weekend live jazz.

My Jazz Story

Sarap Sarap Bistro Filipino promotes the renaissance of Jazz in the nation’s capital by providing intimate performance spaces for some of the most talented artists in the region. Along exposed brick, enjoy expert authentic Philippine cuisine, European boutique wines, San Miguel beer and handcrafted cocktails in a refined and relaxed quintessential Jazz venue. The pared-down contemporary dive, anchored by a baby grand, hosts a formidable roster of mostly young, emerging music makers with varied styles from bebop to traditional swing. Weekend jam sessions are a neighborhood staple where often every inch of standing room is occupied.
