My song Supermodel which conjured a synth pop genre within what I do emanates primordially from Depeche Mode Vince Clarke era. Also the song, St Elmo by the Sea, has Depeche Mode with Vince as a significant influence. Depeche Mode have been highly influential to my synth melodies, textures and cadences. The album Afternoon in Utopia is redolent with Depeche Mode essences. In my early career I played in a Synth Pop band Voltaire, one of our primary influences was Depeche Mode.
