URB ALT 4.1 or Mutha and Sistas of Invention rolls out Saturday, 3/31 featuring MuthaWit, Oh My Goodness and A Fly In Buttermilk. Live video projections by Tim Fielder

URB ALT 4.1 or Mutha and Sistas of Invention is a continuation of the hip music/film/ performance art series that is programmed in various venues around New York City. Each night features cutting edge underground and national bands working along with multi- disciplinary artists to create a heightened entertainment experience.

MuthaWit is a wildly musical 6 piece multi-cultural outfit that incorporates rock dynamics, avant garde experimentation, irreverent humor, classical sensitivity, soulful spirituality and jazz intensity into a unique sonic experience. Founded in 1989 by Boston Fielder, MuthaWit's expansive membership has worked with Funkadelic, Sting, Henry Threadgill, the Family Stand, Organized Noize and Victor Wooten among others. The players for this show include Boston(guitar, keys, voice), JT Lewis(drums), V. Jeffrey Smith(saxes, flute), Samuel Fernandez(bass), Ben Tyree(guitar), Will Martina(cello), Bunny B(percussion) and Tim Fielder(visual projections).

Oh My Goodness (Therese Workman) and A Fly In The Buttermilk (Marjory Bruno) collaborate on melodically avant garde yet humorous songs with organic electronic beats that are smart and rocking. Their lineup of bass, guitar, vocals, keys, sampler, drum machines and cello is a harbinger of the future.
