Just wanted to spread the good word: The Benevento/Russo Duo, are coming to our very own 'hood!
The venue, called The Yard, is a beautiful little spot parked on the border of Carroll Gardens and Park Slope: The Gowanus Canal. As you can see from the photos, The Yard is a delightful/bizarre mix of industrial and bucolic.
I hope you get a chance to join us canal-side. Here are the details for the event:
Benevento/Russo Duo @ The Yard
June 28th, 2008
The Yard // 388-400 Carroll St. Brooklyn
Doors 4pm, $15 adv/$20, ALL AGES
Rain or shine!
The Benevento/Russo Duo burst onto the scene in 2002, when their residency at the Knitting Factory launched them as indy sensations. Riding the line between a jam band and indy rock duo, the pair have since taken the world by storm with their cathedral-sized sounds, jazz chops, and rock-laden riffs. Their new album, Play Pause Stop, highlights the evolution of their music - the two bring on guitars, Mellotrons, Wurlitzers, and bass where there previously was only keyboard and drums. On June 28th, the duo's national tour brings them to The Yard, for a day of astounding musical vistas and a jam session to end all jam sessions.
