A Night of Jazz to Benefit Young Musicians in Harlem

Featuring a Performance by Wycliffe Gordon and the Jonathan Batiste Trio

Special Guest Performance by Christian McBride and Loren Schoenberg

Manhattan “A Night of Jazz," a special evening benefiting the Harmony in Harlem program, will feature a performance by Wycliffe Gordon, accompanied by the Jonathan Batiste Trio. Gordon is an award- winning trombonist who has built an extraordinary career as a performer, conductor, composer, arranger and educator. Batiste is a talented pianist who has performed with many renowned artists.

The evening will also include a special performance by Christian McBride and Loren Schoenberg. McBride is a Grammy Award-winning bassist and composer and the evening's Honorary Chair. Schoenberg is a saxophonist, conductor, scholar and executive director of The Jazz Museum in Harlem and the co-founder of the Harmony in Harlem program.

Rhonda Hamilton, radio personality and producer of a popular jazz program on WBGO-FM, will host the evening. One hundred percent of the net proceeds of the evening will benefit Harmony in Harlem, a collaborative music ensemble for young musicians in grades 7-12 run by The Children's Aid Society's Youth Chorus Program and The Jazz Museum in Harlem.
