Wayne McConnell

Wayne has played music all his life, first on violin, then on piano and keyboard. From a young age Wayne could pick out melodies and play them note-for-note on first hearing. Wayne studied the piano more seriously at around age 10 and was hooked on jazz in his mid-teens. At age 18 Wayne was heard by American pianist James Williams (Art Blakey, Dizzy Gillespie, Freddie Hubbard, Ray Brown, Wynton Marsalis) who has offered him endless guidance and support for a career as a jazz pianist. Over the last few years Wayne has played with some of the best jazz musicians in the UK including: Andy Cleyndert, Mark Mondesir,, Tim Garland, Russ Morgan, Simon Fell, Gary Kavanagh and has also performed in duets with American pianist James Williams.
