Valentina Deshler
Valentina Deshler is an emerging vocal standout in the DC Metropolitan area, specializing in Jazz, Soul, and Rhythm & Blues. Born into a musical family, she began singing at age seven alongside her late grandmother, a gifted jazz pianist. Growing up, she sharpened her skills during jazz band rehearsals, absorbing a wide range of styles from funk to fusion and bossa nova.
Her formal vocal development began in high school under the tutelage of renowned jazz vocalist Mary Ann Redmond. Valentina has since taken the stage at a diverse range of events, from local coffeehouse salons and auctions to weddings, graduation ceremonies, and rooftop brunch and dinner parties, alongside lead roles in musical theater productions. At the University of Virginia, she performed R&B classics from the ’80s, ’90s, and 2000s at student events with her music collective, ReMix.
Today, Valentina regularly performs at iconic jazz, soul, and R&B venues across DC, Baltimore, Ellicott City, and Virginia, including Mr. Henry’s, Marx Café, Green Island Café, Talea, QRTZ Bar, El Secreto de Rosita, and Bourbon Boulevard. In addition to performing, she runs the live music program at El Secreto de Rosita on 17th and U Street NW, where she curates, coordinates, and hosts a range of local music acts every Tuesday night.
