In the Summer of 89' at just 18 yrs old, a day trip down to Marina del Rey with some friends and "Steps Ahead NYC" in the cassette deck blossomed an already aspiring young musician. Southern California born "Simba" was bit by what he calls the "Fusion Bug" and it has ever since been his passion in the Jazz scene.
From Trane to Kenny Garrett to Everette Harp, all have inspired him to just play. Playing the Alto Saxophone and Drums and developing into a fine Percussionist he recently added Vibraphone to his repertoire in expanding his voice. He quotes: I no longer deal with labeling the music, I just see the beauty in it all and where ever the contributions fill the chalices I let the other cats place it in the appropriate archives for a label/title.
Taking on new ventures as a multi-instrumentalist the Alto Sax will always remain as his main ax. Mostly a Fusion Jazz player behind the horn even having studied with the great Billy Higgins. He formally formed his own band in the early 2000's The Appleseed Quartet and contributed one release, he has shown he can cut the mustard. Now in 2016 under the marquee of "Dark Horn" after a lengthy hiatus he will bring us his new sound and celebrating the sound of the "Greats" as this marks his Tempes Resurrectionem MMXVI.

Simba: you know man, sometime life gets in the way and I been on a hiatus for a moment, but my passion doesn't sleep so I am making this 2016 my "Time of Resurrection"!

Simba: No man, it just never went away, instead of being silent with a bite, it started screaming! I was listening to a tune by Everette Harp - Free fall, a really inspiring piece not to smoothy jazzy not straight aheady, just fusion enough to start up the inspiration engine.
