"Nomi Teplow is a unique phenomenon on the Jewish music scene... When this soul singer gets up on stage and begins to sing, the audience is riveted with wonder for she sets a different standard, higher than anything else known to date." -Roni Maimon, Besheva

Nomi Teplow was born and raised in Cleveland, Ohio and she completed both her Bachelors and Masters degrees at Columbia University (B.A. Barnard College). In 1990 Nomi decided to leave the life she knew, which included a successful career as a corporate banker, and fulfill her lifelong dream of making her home in Israel.

Nomi began her musical career singing opera, show tunes and popular music. While living in NY, Nomi was a student of Maestro Dino Anagnost and she sang in the "Metropolitan Singers" Choir. In Israel, Nomi was a student of Agnes Massini. A coloratura soprano, Nomi gave recitals and concerts throughout Israel and performed as a soloist with many of Israel's symphony and chamber orchestras. Nomi participated in several Israel Festival productions and her performances have been aired on Israeli radio and television. Nomi has worked with leading Israeli artists such as Yoni Rechter, Shlomo Gronich, Dudu Tassa and Roi Levy and she has appeared with American artists such as Craig Taubman, Judy Ginsburgh and Neshama Carlebach.

Nomi writes and sings soul, pop and rock music with a contemporary Israeli/Jewish flavor. Several of her songs have been included in American Jewish compilation CDs (Celebrate Shabbat, Voices For Israel) and cantors worldwide sing her "Eshet Chayil". Nomi's music has also been published in “Mizmor Shir,” a publication of Israel’s Ministry of Education. Nomi’s music is heard on Israeli and international radio stations and she performs her music throughout Israel, bringing uplifting messages of faith and hope during these difficult times.

Nomi has released three CDs: "Kumi Ori" (Arise,Shine), "My Brothers I Seek", featuring her Shir E-l Choir and her new CD, "Like a Rushing Spring". The recordings, produced by Moshe Wohl and Nomi Teplow, present a variety of musical styles and utilize the musical talent of some of Israel’s leading instrumentalists. Both of Nomi's solo CDs feature the vocals of “The Black Hebrew Gospel Singers”.

In addition to singing, Nomi is a choral conductor and voice teacher and she was appointed as a coach to choral conductors by the Israel Ministry of Education.
