NJ Jazz Society

The NJ Jazz Society has been incorporated since 1972. It is a NJ Registered Charitable Organization and a 501(c)(3) tax-exempt organization. The Society produces concerts, PeeWee Stomp in March in Whippany, NJ and JazzFest in June at Drew U/Madison, NJ. Other activities include monthly members meetings at Trumpets, Montclair; a movie series in Chatham Library; JERSEY JAZZ magazine is a monthly publication for members. The Society has an educational outreach program, Generations of Jazz led by Pam Purvis. The organization maintains an annuity at Rutgers U/New Brunswick for jazz majors. Also, the Society awards financial scholarships to jazz majors in NJ Colleges at its Stomp every year. The Society holds its monthly board of directors meetings at The Cornerstone in Metuchen, NJ.
